Merribells R / Ring

Handbell ringing is fun and an excellent workout for your brain and coordination.  Merribells Ring is a mixed group of bell ringers. Some of whom have been ringing for a long time. Some are relatively new to ringing.   New ringers receive a short series of lessons before joining the main group.  We support each other in learning to ring. This group is also the  "feeder group" for the other Merribells Perform group. 

We play for fun and our own pleasure. When you feel confident with the various techniques you will learn, you may be asked to step up and perform with the performance group. However, not everyone wants to perform and that is fine. 

The ability to read music and understand simple rhythms and to keep in time are important skills which will be developed further. 

If you played a melody instrument at school-you may be a bit rusty, but it will come back!
