Our next meeting will be from 2-4pm on Friday 15th May 2026 at the Liden Community Centre.
The writing prompt is:
“An Inspiration” - 400 words centred around a person who has given you inspiration to change an aspect of your life.
If you would like to join the Creative Writing group please come to
a meeting to see what we do. We aim to provide a welcoming, friendly
place where you can share your writing with the group and receive
helpful and encouraging feedback. We cover all forms of writing be it short stories,
novels, poetry, screenplays, memoirs or articles. Furthermore, we
also have enrichment sessions where we focus on particular writing
techniques or writing genres. Sometimes we play games centred on writing.
There
will be an Arts and Literacy Festival in Highworth on 13-20th June. There area number of workshops about writing and a short (50 words) story competition entitled "Ghost Story". Competition closing date is Saturday 6 June 2026.
Please note the fee for joining the Creative writing group is £12 which covers the whole year from September 2025 to August 2026. This pays for the rent and use of the facilities of the Liden Community Centre room. This fee is in addition to the U3A annual membership fee.
