The writing prompt is:
Pick up a Newspaper - (print or on-line) and select a headline. Instead of what the newspaper report is about imagine your own story around the selected headline - 400 words or thereabouts.
If you would like to join the Creative Writing group please come to
a meeting to see what we do. We aim to provide a welcoming, friendly
place where you can share your writing with the group and receive
helpful and encouraging feedback. We cover all forms of writing be it short stories,
novels, poetry, screenplays, memoirs or articles. Furthermore, we
also have enrichment sessions where we focus on particular writing
techniques or writing genres. Sometimes we play games centred on writing.
Please note the fee for joining the Creative writing group for the coming U3A year is expected to be around £12 which will cover the whole year from September 2026 to August 2027. This pays for the rent and use of the facilities of the Liden Community Centre room. This fee is in addition to the U3A annual membership fee.
