Restarting Groups

Lockdown restrictions are gradually being lifted and that means some groups may be able to resume meeting.

Each group will need to consider the guidance against its own requirements.

First, please read and complete the Protocol for Restarting Groups to be followed by Group Organisers. PDF Word

Below are a series of links to the current government Guidance, the Third Age Trust Guidance and risk assessment forms which will govern the validy of the U3A insurance.

The continued lifting of restrictions means that the situation is fluid and Group Organisers should review these documents on a regular basis to see whether there are any changes to the guidance and it is practical for their group to restart.

Pick up a Ukulele

Those who attended the TVN Ukulele Day last October will remember what a wonderful event it was - full of music, and fun, and the sheer joy of playing and singing.

Well, we are organising another Ukulele event, via ZOOM, and this one is for:

  • Those who own a ukulele but do not yet know how to play
  • People who are keen to start, but have not chosen an instrument yet
  • Experienced ukulele players who wish to set up a U3A group

The event will be led by George Bonner, from Faringdon U3A, who is an experienced ukulele teacher. It will take place on Thursday, October 1st, at 10:30 a.m., and it is FREE!!

Please see the flyer and application form for the programme, and further details.

The application form should be sent to Patsy Thornton (details on the form) as soon as possible - the closing date for applications is Thursday, 24th September.
